Job description
An immediate requirement for a Section Engineer to join a Highways Contractor in Norfolk and Suffolk area working on several projects.
Paying OUTSIDE IR35
Duration of works would be 3 months minimum but will be on going.
We are seeking a highly experienced Section Engineer to a highways contractor and oversee multiple highways engineering projects across Norfolk and Suffolk. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a strong background in deep excavations, drainage, RC structures, and ideally piling and working in marine environments.
The role will require someone who can manage multiple smaller projects simultaneously, maintain high standards of quality and safety, and ensure effective coordination between site teams and management.
Key Responsibilities:
·Setting out and ensuring works are completed in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications.
·Reading and interpreting AutoCAD drawings, understanding engineering principles, and producing as-built documentation.
·Managing subcontractors and site operatives, ensuring productivity and quality.
·Reporting directly to the Project Manager or Agent in charge, including maintaining records for progress, quality, and health & safety.
·Conducting briefings, toolbox talks, and ensuring compliance with health & safety regulations.
Experience Required:
·Proven experience in deep excavations, drainage, RC structures, and ideally piling and marine works.
·Proficiency in setting out using modern equipment and producing as-builts.
·Excellent understanding of engineering drawings, principles, and methodologies.
·Strong organisational skills to manage multiple smaller projects.
·Familiarity with health & safety practices and maintaining quality records.
Additional Requirements:
·Full UK driving licence and access to own transport.
·Flexibility to travel to various sites in Norfolk and Suffolk.
·You will need to have an SSSTS/SMSTS, Temporary Works Coordinator/Supervisor and an Engineering Qualification.
