Managing Quantity Surveyor
Highways
£75,000 - £78,000
Leiston, Suffolk
·Up to 8% company pension

About the Role:
Are you ready to take a leadership role in our Infrastructure projects? We are seeking a Managing Quantity Surveyor to oversee and drive the commercial success of our Highways division. Ideally based locally, we are open to subsidizing relocation for the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
·Leading and managing a team of Quantity Surveyors to ensure commercial and contractual compliance.
·Creating and maintaining a safe working environment across all projects.
·Developing subcontract documentation, negotiating terms, prices, and programs.
·Overseeing subcontract works packages, including interim assessments and change management.
·Ensuring the issuance of commercial notices to Clients and Subcontractors in accordance with contracts.
·Managing change processes, including Compensation Event Quotations.
·Overseeing the submission and agreement of monthly applications to the Client.
·Liaising with operational and engineering teams to maintain accurate site records.
·Producing detailed monthly reports and Cost Value Reconciliations (CVR).
·Maintaining and managing a detailed Cost Plan, forecasting expenditures, and providing strategic cost control.
·Attending and leading progress and risk reduction meetings with clients and subcontractors.
·Maximizing project value and profitability through strategic commercial management.
·Supporting estimating and bid teams with contractual expertise.
·Acting as a key leader in the on-site commercial team, driving best practices and efficiencies.
About You:
·Strong leadership and management skills with a proven track record in commercial management.
·Excellent understanding of standard forms of contract, particularly NEC3/4 Option C.
·Proficiency in IT systems, including Excel, Word, and Contractual & Cost Management Systems (CEMAR, Oracle).
·Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
·Demonstrated experience in a Civil Engineering environment (Highways, Rail, Water, Aviation) with Highways England or Local Authority Clients.
·Experience managing large single projects or multiple smaller schemes.
·First-class time management and ability to deliver key outcomes effectively.
