Job description

We are seeking a dedicated Housing Support Officer to join a proactive housing management team. This rewarding role focuses on providing personalised support to older and vulnerable tenants, enabling them to live independently in their homes. You will play a pivotal role in assessing tenant needs, coordinating access to essential services, and fostering community engagement through social activities in sheltered housing schemes.
 
You must be based in North West Leicestershire to be considered, as the role involves travelling around the district and cannot be done remotely
 
This position is part time and working hours/days can be discussed during interview process.
 
The Role
·Conduct needs assessments, develop tailored support plans, and provide advice to promote tenant independence, security, and well-being.
·Ensure tenants receive appropriate health, social, and well-being services, working closely with internal teams and external partners.
·Facilitate social and well-being activities within sheltered housing schemes, encouraging tenant involvement and regular consultation.
·Guide tenants on their rights and available services, assisting with form completion and acting as an advocate where necessary.
·Collaborate with other agencies, GPs, and family members to support tenant needs and attend case conferences when required.
 
The Ideal Candidate
·Previous experience in housing support or working with vulnerable individuals is highly desirable.
·Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to assess needs, plan effectively, and manage priorities.
·Familiarity with sheltered housing schemes and specialist areas such as dementia is advantageous.
·A confident communicator, able to engage with tenants, external agencies, and internal teams effectively.
·Passionate about improving tenant well-being and fostering community involvement.
·A license and access to a vehicle is essential
