Job Title: Assistant Town Planner

Location: Hertfordshire (Full-time Office Presence)

I am currently working with an established, innovative planning and design consultancy based in Hertfordshire, specializing in a variety of residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. Their team of skilled professionals is made up of architects and a senior town planner who you would be supporting on their growing portfolio of projects.

Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated and ambitious Junior Town Planner to join our collaborative, close-knit team. This is an excellent opportunity for a planner with a minimum of 6 months of professional experience to gain valuable exposure to a diverse range of planning projects. The ideal candidate will be able to come in an hit the ground running with a passion for planning, a keen eye for detail, and a desire to work alongside architects to deliver high-quality planning solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
·Assist with the preparation and submission of planning applications, appeals, and other planning documents.
·Support senior staff in project management, research, and report writing.
·Liaise with local authorities, stakeholders, and clients to ensure effective communication and successful project outcomes.
·Conduct site assessments and provide advice on planning policy, regulations, and compliance.
·Collaborate with architects and the wider team to ensure integrated project delivery.
·Stay up-to-date with the latest planning regulations and industry best practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
·A degree in Town Planning (RTPI accredited) or equivalent.
·Minimum of 6 months of experience in a planning role, ideally within the private sector or consultancy.
·Strong knowledge of the UK planning system and relevant legislation.
·Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
·Proficient in using planning software and Microsoft Office Suite.
·Ability to work independently and as part of a small, dynamic team.
