Job description

My client is looking for an experienced Housing Solutions Officer to join their team Complex Needs Team on a contract basis. As a Housing Solutions Officer, you will lead efforts to address homelessness, specialising in cases involving vulnerable individuals, such as those experiencing domestic violence, mental health challenges, or high-risk situations.
 
You'll collaborate with multi-agency partners and provide vital support and guidance to those with complex circumstances. Additionally, you will manage sensitive, high-risk cases, working with external stakeholders like health services, police, probation, and housing associations, while ensuring decisions comply with legislation and policy.
 
The Role
·Develop tailored housing solutions and interventions for clients at risk of homelessness, providing support to keep them off the streets and into secure housing.
·Take the lead on high-need cases, often involving court reviews, multi-agency meetings, and in-depth assessments to deliver positive outcomes.
·Engage with landlords, healthcare providers, social services, and support agencies to provide wraparound care for clients.
·Conduct outreach and promote alternatives to social housing, offering clients a broad view of available housing options, including private rentals and supported housing.
·Document case details meticulously, produce statutory decision letters, and track client progress effectively.
 
The Ideal Candidate
·You have a strong background in housing or social services, particularly working with complex, vulnerable client groups in high-stakes situations.
·Excellent interpersonal, mediation, and negotiation skills, with a problem-solving mindset and the ability to handle sensitive cases calmly under pressure.
·Up-to-date understanding of housing legislation, such as the Homeless Reduction Act 2017, and familiarity with local housing solutions.
·A passion for customer care, equality, and continuous improvement, ensuring every individual receives fair, high-quality service.
