Building Safety Resident Engagement Officer
£400p/d Umbrella Rate (INSIDE IR35)
3 month contract (with view to extend)
London Borough of Newham
 
As a Building Safety Resident Engagement Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring effective communication and engagement with residents regarding building safety.
You will work closely with the Housing Resident Engagement team and other stakeholders to support the High Rise Living residents group and manage communication surrounding Building Safety Case Files and Building Assessment Certificates.
 
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing and amending the Building Safety Resident Engagement Strategy as needed.
- Liaising with the Building Safety Regulator to ensure compliance and provide updates.
- Working with the Housing Resident Engagement team to support the High Rise Living residents group.
- Preparing and issuing resident communications to support Building Assessment Certificate applications.
- Collaborating with internal council teams, residents, contractors, and consultants to ensure building safety goals are met.
- Acting as a key member of the Building Safety Team, contributing to overall safety objectives.
 
REQUIREMENTS:
-UK Resident
-3 years' minimum public sector experience
-Experience in project management and building safety processes.
-Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and experience working collaboratively across teams.
-Knowledge of emerging building safety legislation, including the Building Safety Bill.
-Desirable experience with high-rise buildings and resolving building defects.
