Job description
We are seeking an experienced Housing Officer to provide frontline housing management services across a designated patch of properties. This role is onsite and community-based, requiring excellent housing knowledge and experience working within a local authority or registered social landlord.
As a key point of contact for residents, you will be responsible for tenancy management, customer support, and compliance with housing policies, ensuring a high standard of service is maintained.
Key Responsibilities
·Manage a designated patch of properties, ensuring effective service delivery, property standards, and tenant satisfaction.
·Conduct regular estate inspections, ensuring compliance with health & safety and tenancy agreements.
·Investigate and resolve tenancy breaches, including anti-social behaviour (ASB), subletting, and rent arrears.
·Support residents with housing advice, signposting to relevant services, and addressing their concerns.
·Deliver high-quality customer service, ensuring resident queries are handled professionally and efficiently.
·Provide support to vulnerable residents, ensuring access to appropriate services and safeguarding where necessary.
·Work collaboratively with housing teams, social services, and external agencies to secure the best outcomes for tenants.
·Ensure all housing policies, procedures, and legal requirements are followed.
·Prepare and serve legal notices where necessary, supporting court proceedings and enforcement action.
·Keep accurate case records and reports, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
About You
·Proven experience in housing management, ideally within a local authority or registered social landlord.
·Strong understanding of tenancy law, housing legislation, and compliance requirements.
·Experience in dealing with ASB, tenancy sustainment, and supporting vulnerable residents.
·Familiarity with rent collection, arrears management, and income recovery processes.
·Excellent customer service and communication skills, with a focus on resident engagement.
·Strong problem-solving and case management abilities.
·Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
·IT proficiency, including housing management systems and case recording tools.
