Job description
Role: Trainee Water Engineer
Location: Irlam, Manchester Office
Salary: £25,875.20 based 40-hour hour week, £12.44 per hour
Standard working week: Monday - Friday (possible overtime on Saturdays time and a half and Sundays double time) on occasions required to work night shifts and stay away from home work.
Essential Criteria: UK Drivers license with no more than 5 points, MUST live with in 30 mins drive of Irlam
Engagement: Full time temporary to permanent hire over 6 months

I am working with a market leading client who are looking to recruit a Trainee Water Engineer based from Manchester or the surrounding areas.
In this role you will be working in a site based capacity as part of a 2-3 person team attached to water projects water utility companies such as Yorkshire Water, Anglian Water, Severn Trent and United Utilities. As a result some stay away work is required where you will be provided with hotel accommodation and subsistence,
Full training will be provided so no prior experience is required, Please note only candidates who hold a full UK drivers license with less than 5 points can be considered for this role.
Key points of the role.
·Ensuring the safety of our Survey Operatives and members of the public
·Moving and handling heavy manhole covers
·Following instructions from your crew leader
·Being alert and monitoring the safety of your team members whilst they are underground
·Working at height and within a confined space
·Contact with waste-water and sewage (PPE will be provided)
Please note mandatory drugs and alcohol tests are undertaken for this role
Suitable Candidates will need?
·Willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions
·Enjoy working as part of a team
·A flexible approach to working hours and possible Nights.
·Physically able to undertake all duties required (lifting/carrying etc.)
·Commitment to working safely with excellent health and safety awareness
·Full UK driving licence
This role would suit anyone with a drivers license that is based near Irlam who is looking to kick start a career in the water sector. This role would naturally progress into a supervisor role and potentially can transfer into CCTV investigation.
