Geo-Environmental Engineer
Are you ready to take on an exciting opportunity with a growing discipline in Geo-Environmental Engineering? We are currently looking for a talented and driven Geo-Environmental Engineer to join a multidisciplinary consultancy expanding their Land Quality and Geo-Environmental capabilities across the UK.
In this role, you'll be involved in preparing and contributing to a wide range of Geo-Environmental and Ground Engineering deliverables across projects in multiple sectors, including public, infrastructure, life sciences, nuclear, and aviation. From the far north of Shetland to the southern coast of Devon, you'll encounter a variety of ground conditions and challenges. Recent schemes have included peer reviews, the design of a 160km power distribution network, and geohazard assessments across Scotland's railways.
The role is based in Salford Quays with flexible hybrid working options.

Key Responsibilities:
·Prepare and contribute to various assessments and reports related to Geo-Environmental tasks.
·Stay informed about Geo-Environmental design trends and techniques to provide innovative solutions.
·Review reports from specialist subcontractors to ensure compliance with design objectives.
·Undertake site visits as needed, representing the company professionally.
·Support the development and expansion of the Geo-Environmental service across multiple geographic locations in the UK.

Candidate Profile:
Education:
·Degree in Geology, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or a relevant subject.
·Working towards Chartership with a recognized professional body (GeolSoc, ICE, IMMM, CIWEM, etc.).
Experience:
·Previous experience working in a Geo-Environmental or Engineering Consultancy.
·Hands-on experience supporting Phase 1 and Phase 2 Geo-Environmental technical reports, including ground gas risk assessments.
·Experience in the scheduling of laboratory tests and the production of ground investigation specifications.
·Experience supervising ground investigation activities.
·A valid driving license and willingness to travel within the UK for short-term site visits.
 
Reports to: Head of Ground Engineering
Team Structure: Approximately 12 people nationally, 7 in Manchester. Collectively part of the wider C&S team, which has over 100 members across the UK.
