Competent Person - Melksham

Job Description:

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Competent Person to join our esteemed client on a National Grid project in Melksham. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with the necessary qualifications, experience, and technical expertise to take responsibility for site safety and operations within a high-stakes National Grid environment.

Key Responsibilities:

·Act as the Competent Person on a substation.
·Ensure all operations comply with safety protocols and National Grid standards.
·Carry out site inductions and ensure all personnel follow safety guidelines.
·Supervise and coordinate activities, ensuring all work is completed efficiently and safely.
·Manage and maintain site documentation and safety records.
·Monitor and maintain the site's equipment and resources, including coordinating the use of a telehandler.
·Ensure the substation operations are carried out in accordance with regulatory requirements.
·Work closely with engineers and contractors to ensure smooth operations and compliance.

Requirements:

·Experience working as a Competent Person on the National Grid.
·NSI 6 & 8 Qualifications.
·Valid Telehandler ticket.
·Strong knowledge of health and safety standards, particularly within high-voltage environments.
·Ability to manage site activities, supervise staff, and liaise with stakeholders.
·Excellent communication and organizational skills.
·Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
