Building Safety Manager
Employer: Westminster City Council
Location: Hybrid (Remote and On-Site within Westminster)
Salary: £425 per day Umbrella
Employment Type: Contract, Full-Time

Westminster City Council is seeking an experienced Building Safety Manager to lead the compliance and safety initiatives for our high-risk residential properties. About the Role
Reporting to the Principal Building Safety Manager, you will:
·Ensure Compliance: Oversee adherence to the Building Safety Act 2022, Fire Safety Act 2021, and related legislation.
·Collaborate & Lead: Work closely with internal teams, contractors, and residents to promote safety awareness and maintain transparency.
·Deliver Safety Reports: Prepare Building Assessment Certificate (BAC) applications and detailed safety case reports.
·Identify & Improve Risks: Conduct building inspections, recommend improvements, and oversee fire safety enhancements.
·Support Development: Maintain the Golden Thread of Information for new and existing high-risk buildings.

About You
Skills & Experience Required
·Extensive knowledge of the Building Safety Act 2022 and related legislation.
·Proven experience in residential building management, construction, or compliance.
·A strong track record of delivering customer satisfaction, ideally in a local government setting.
·Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a solutions-focused mindset.
Technical Expertise
·Competence in compliance software, risk assessment tools, and detailed report preparation.
·Experience in managing safety risks and recommending remedial actions.
Desirable Qualifications
·Training in building management or construction.
·Familiarity with building control, planning, or listed building consent processes.
