University of Portsmouth Student Wins Gold at BUCS National Boxing Championships
Carrington West's James Fernandes and Amanda Ansell were lucky enough to attend the BUCS National Boxing Championships, an exhilerating 3-day event which took place from the 24th-26th January.
The event brought in over 240 student boxers to Portsmouth, hailing from 72 universities across the country. As part of our sponsorship of University of Portsmouth sport, we were delighted to attend the event to extend our support the Portsmouth's best student boxers.
We were delighted that Portsmouth University's Louis Silk, 1st Year BSc (Hons) Paramedic Science, came away with the gold on Sunday after a thrilling final against a tough opponent from Leicester. Sport plays a crucial role in building strong communities, offering young people confidence, teamwork skills, and a sense of belonging. At Carrington West, we’re proud to sponsor local sports to foster young talent and support the next generation in reaching their full potential, on and off the field.
