Job description

My client is looking for candidates who are familiar with supporting planning applications through the preparation of Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, Delivery and Servicing Plans, Construction Logistics Plans and the transport chapters of Environmental Statement and developing access, parking and servicing solutions.

The company was set up five years ago by the Directors, who worked together for the previous 10+ years at other companies, they started with 12 staff in 2016 and have now grown to 20 staff. The business is reliant on its reputation and as such achieves a growing work load through repeat business and word-of-mouth. This has led to positive organic growth in the first 5 years, and is something they are keen to maintain going forward.

Their work is predominantly private-sector development, including working in the residential, student accommodation, commercial, retail, education, healthcare, and mixed-use sectors. The scale of projects varies from small schemes such as 5-10 houses up to larger schemes at circa 2,000 dwellings. Commercial work can range from extension and refurbishment schemes up to comprehensive redevelopment of office blocks in central London, while retail work may range from retail park asset improvement up to regional shopping centre extensions. Project work is largely focused in London, however they also work on a range of projects in the home counties and across the UK.

The company does not operate with set teams, which allows all staff to work with all Directors and vice versa. They feel this allows staff to gain a broader range of experience and working styles, and allows for more-efficient resource planning. They have an open and communicative working style with staff encouraged to share knowledge/experience, which benefits all members of staff both junior and senior. Staff are also encouraged to source training courses and events that are relevant and beneficial to their role/position in order to maintain continuing professional development (CPD). They are also a very sociable office, regularly going for lunches, holding monthly social events, and regularly heading for informal drinks/food in the surrounding area.

The company recognises the importance of the input staff provide and are keen to incentivise and reward them for their input and share the ongoing success of the company. The company provides a very good package of benefits along with competitive salaries, and the terms and benefits of the position include the following:

Competitive salary (negotiable and tailored to candidate/experience)
37.5 hours standard working week
27 days holiday leave per year
6% employers contribution pension scheme
Performance-related annual bonus (previous years have been up to 15%, paid in two instalments)
Flexi-time working with potential to take up to one day/month in lieu of overtime (overtime paid up to Associate level)
Annual paid staff away trip to Europe in June/July
Regular formal staff socials typically monthly (flight club - darts, bounce - table tennis, T20 cricket, etc.)
Season ticket loan and cycle to work scheme available.

The company remains busy and have been able to continue to pay bonuses and pay rises during the last two years.
