Job description

Trainee Electric Metering Technician.
 
From £28,000 to £31,000 per annum O/T, Bonus
(Temporary to Permanent - 6 months)
 
Our client are looking for electrical technicians/engineers to join us and train to be meter installers. You will also be able to use your electrical experience to help us on more generic electrical projects, including our "crowded meter room" projects set in communal, commercial and industrial environments.
 
Once trained and qualified (over an initial period of 12 weeks), you will be responsible for the Installation and maintenance of metering equipment and associated electrical equipment.
Initially working with single and 3 phase whole current metering, with a view to develop into LV and HV, CT metering after gaining experience in the field
You may also be asked to install and maintain Monitoring and Control BMS Systems.
Accountability/Key Responsibilities
·To install equipment within timescales indicated by various contracts.
·Remote and on site fault diagnosis and rectification within the timescales permitted.
·Remote and on site meter/equipment programming/reading, using various PC based software packages.
·Workload planning and appointment booking with customers to meet required timescales and customer requirements.
·Accurate completion and submission of paperwork within specified timescales.
·Meter reading, testing and logger replacement as required.
·Stock planning and control to ensure availability of all equipment required to complete jobs issued successfully.
 
Education:
Maths & English GCSE or equivalent.
NVQ level 3 or C&G (236/2360, part one and two. 2330/2356) or similar/equivalent.
C&G 2382 meeting the requirements of at least the 17th edition of the IET wiring regulations.
 
Desirable:
·Completion of a relevant apprenticeship.
·Other types of Electrical qualifications.
 
Experience
·Sound electrical background.
·Some relevant site-based experience.
·Full UK Driver's license
