Position: Town Planner
Location: Winchester
Salary: Competitive + Benefits
Hours: Full-Time (40 hrs) or Part-Time (30 hrs)
We are currently recruiting for a Town Planner to join a friendly, dynamic, and expanding team based in the beautiful rural setting of Winchester. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a growing company with over 20 years of experience.
The role will involve working on a range of exciting planning projects from conception to securing planning approvals. You will work both independently and as part of a team, collaborating with consultants to ensure high-quality, compliant, and timely project delivery. You will also use your commercial awareness and excellent communication skills to liaise with clients, stakeholders, and other departments within the company.
Key Responsibilities:
·Develop and manage individual planning projects from start to finish.
·Lead and manage a team of consultants to ensure project compliance and delivery within agreed timeframes.
·Prepare detailed reports and documentation for planning applications.
·Communicate with clients and stakeholders to ensure clear briefs, manage risks, and provide advice on a wide range of planning matters.
·Work on your own specific caseload, providing expert planning advice across the business.
About You:
We are looking for someone with the following skills and experience:
·At least 2 years of experience in town planning, preferably within a consultancy or local authority environment.
·A strong technical knowledge of planning processes across multiple sectors.
·Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in report writing and client communication.
·A proactive approach to business development and the ability to build and maintain strong professional networks.
·Ideally, a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI), or a willingness to work towards membership with the support of the company.
·Proficient in standard Microsoft Office applications.
·Strong interpersonal skills and a confident, client-focused approach.
