Job Overview:
We are seeking a Setting Out Engineer with 2+ years of experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in setting out for piling foundations, as well as a strong background in civil engineering. You will be responsible for ensuring that construction activities are carried out according to design plans, specifications, and client requirements, while coordinating closely with site teams, subcontractors, and senior engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
·Setting Out & Surveying Accurately interpret and establish key reference points, lines, and levels for the construction of piling foundations and other structural works.
·Piling Works: Oversee piling foundation projects, ensuring that pile positions, depths, and levels meet engineering designs and project requirements.
·Site Supervision: Monitor on-site activities, ensuring that work aligns with the specifications, project plans, and industry standards. Provide technical guidance to subcontractors and site teams.
·Quality Assurance Ensure that the quality of workmanship adheres to relevant standards and procedures. Conduct inspections, tests, and measurements to verify compliance.
·Health & Safety Enforce on-site safety regulations, conducting risk assessments and ensuring compliance with health and safety policies.
·Liaison Work closely with project managers, architects, and other engineers to address design changes or challenges that arise during the project.
·Reporting Maintain detailed site records, including daily logs, as-built drawings, and progress reports, to ensure transparency in project execution.
·Material and Equipment Management Ensure the timely procurement and delivery of materials and equipment to site, coordinating with suppliers and contractors as needed.
Qualifications:
·Education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
·Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in setting out engineering, with a focus on piling foundations.
·Technical Skills:
oProficient in using modern surveying equipment (Total Stations, GPS, Laser Levels).
oAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and site plans.
oFamiliar with construction software like AutoCAD, Revit, or other relevant tools.
·Knowledge: Understanding of piling techniques and ground engineering, along with a working knowledge of construction health and safety legislation.
·Competencies:
oStrong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
oExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
oAbility to work independently and within a team.
oTime management skills, ensuring timely project execution.
Desirable Skills:
·Experience with large-scale civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
·Previous experience with various types of piling (e.g., bored, driven, CFA).
·Membership in professional bodies such as ICE (Institution of Civil Engineers).
