Senior Engineer

·Project management of Civil Engineering schemes, taking full responsibility for all aspects including but not limited to:
oObtaining full project brief from Client.
oThe ability to undertake the role of Design Team Leader for major projects with high Civil Engineering content
oProduction of fee proposal.
oHealth and Safety / CDM requirements.
oLiaison with all key stakeholders.
oResource programming and management.
oCo-ordination of other RL disciplines to provide a single point of contact / response where necessary.
oTechnical approvals (where applicable).
oTechnical specifications.
oTechnical standards.
oQA.
oProject deadlines.
oDelegation of work as required to other staff and checking of their work.
oFinancial management (project spend / fee / profitability) and the ability to identify where additional fees may be required.
oInvoicing.
oDebt recovery (in conjunction with accounts).
·Good problem solving capabilities.
·Highly competent user of engineering software including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroDrainage and XP Site.
·Robust knowledge of all relevant technical approval processes including Section 38 and 278 of the Highways Act and Section 104, 106 and 185 of the Water Industry Act.
·Good knowledge of Sewers for Adoption, Manual for Streets, Building Regulations, CIRIA 753 and the relevant sections of the Water Industry Act, Highway Act and DMRB.
·Keep up to date with industry changes including but not limited to changes in legislation, regulations, technical standards, innovative products and software updates.
·The ability to undertake design work at all stages, from concept / feasibility through detailed design to construction issue.
·The ability to design Primary Infrastructure.
·Understanding of ground conditions and the implications on Civil Engineering design.
·The ability to undertake ground modelling and cut / fill analysis for designs such as bulk earthworks and Section 278 surfacing.
·Ability to check own work before passing to a senior member of staff for approval.
·Good knowledge of Civil Engineering construction principles.
·Ability to prepare documentation for both planning submission and planning condition sign-off.
·Good knowledge of the planning process and an understanding of other parties involved.
·Clear understanding of CDM and how it applies to the role you undertake.
·Understanding of and ability to review and recommend for sign off Appointment Documents, Letters of Reliance and Warranty Documents.
·Maintain regular liaison with Clients to develop good working relationships.
·Understand Client needs and agree best value technical solutions to meet project challenges.
·Working with internal market leads to help promote and sell company services.
