Role: NEC Works supervisor
Location: Grimsby
Rate: £330 per day + £90 per day accommodation/Subsistence costs
Duration: 6 Months
Part Time: 2-3 days per week
 
Job Description:
 
We are working with a Consultancy who has a contract with the main contractor, looking for an NEC Supervisor who can support and help deliver the project in he construction of a new  Boathouse for the RNLI
 
The project is currently at the Building fit out and M&E stage. The sub structure and sewer stage is complete and need an experienced supervisor to see through the final stages of the project before client handover is due.
 
Main Responsibilities and Duties
·Ensure the Contractor adheres to the Contract Specification Testing & Certification requirements within it.   Promote best practice across the Delivery Team.
·Observe the Contractor's working operations for compliance with the Specification and oversee the recording of daily on-going works (plant, people, gangs, weather etc);
·Organise and if necessary, inspect works that will be covered up as part of the permanent works.
·Agree defective works with the Contractor and record on the site quality systems and within CEMAR.
·Ensure Contractor closes out Defects within the timescales within the Contract. Manage defects not closed out in a timely manner.
·Observe the on-site health and safety aspects of the Contractor's operations and inform the Project Manager of key H&S risks / and or areas for improvement.
·Report observed on-site safety issues (near misses, dangerous occurrences, practices) to the Project Manager / Supervisor).
·Attendance at meetings as requested by the Project Manager.
 
Qualifications & Experience
·Significant relevant work experience within the construction sectors, including leading a supervision team and technical teams.
·Driving Licence
·CSCS Card
·NRSWA supervisor
·Ability to attend site as required.
Desirable
·Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS)
·Experienced in using CEMAR (for recording Defects)
·NEC4 ECC Supervisor accredited.
Competencies & Behaviours
·Ability to liaise confidently with the Contractor on all testing technical matters and inspections as required work within a team providing commercial support to the Commercial Manager.
·Proactive approach to the resolution of issues.
·Ability to liaise confidently with the Contractor on all observed unsafe health and safety practices or near misses.
·Good communication and negotiating within a collaborative team environment.
·Excellent record management skills (e.g., daily diaries) including the use of app-based record keeping products.
·Familiarity and competence in the application of office software
Reporting & Communication
·The Supervisor shall report directly to the  Project Manager as part of the contract administration team. 
·The Supervisor shall be able to independently liaise with the Contractors operational team on a day-to day basis.
·The Supervisor shall manage the inspectors to ensure the Contractor quality is ensured.
Working Location
·On-site presence is required for the whole working week for the duration of the works.
