Allocations Team Leader
We are looking for a motivated and experienced Allocations Team Leader to join our clients Housing Allocations team. This role is pivotal in managing the housing register, ensuring that social housing allocations are fair, legal, and in line with statutory requirements. You will supervise a team of allocations officers, ensuring the effective delivery of housing services to those in need, while maintaining excellent customer service and performance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
·Lead and manage a team responsible for determining eligibility for social housing, ensuring the legality of all allocations.
·Oversee social housing lettings, including nominations to Registered Providers and council stock.
·Support staff through complex housing cases, providing guidance and leadership.
·Ensure compliance with housing policies, health and safety regulations, and data protection laws.
·Maintain accurate records and produce performance reports on voids, lettings, and the housing register.
·Work collaboratively with Registered Providers, ensuring correct nomination rights and managing partnerships.
·Address any performance or HR-related issues within the team, including sickness and leave management.
·Attend management and multi-agency meetings, deputising for the Interim Allocations and Rough Sleeping Lead when required.
·Support service improvement initiatives and manage change within the team.
What We're Looking For:
·Proven experience managing staff in a pressurized customer service environment, preferably in housing allocations, with a focus on vulnerable clients.
·Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills, with the ability to provide clear guidance, manage performance, and support staff development.
·In-depth understanding of housing and homelessness legislation, along with experience managing social housing applications and lettings.
·A Level or equivalent education, with evidence of continuous professional development. A relevant housing qualification is desirable.
·A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
