EC&I Engineer - Hybrid
£60-70 per hour (Inside IR35)
Are you an experienced EC&I Engineer looking to contribute to the UK's defence efforts while advancing sustainable energy projects?
We are seeking a skilled EC&I Engineer to join our client's Defence team.
Key Responsibilities:
·Deliver technical solutions that meet client requirements for EC&I engineering, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, regulations, and directives.
·Provide design support and contribute to design reviews, ensuring environmental impacts are considered throughout the process.
·Supervise junior engineers, graduates, and draughtsmen on low-complexity work packages.
·Identify and mitigate design risks across the project lifecycle and support technical design proposals during the tender process.
·Maintain commercial and project awareness, ensuring accurate task estimations and effective change control for scope changes.
·Collaborate with project teams to manage the impact of engineering design risks on installation and commissioning.
What We're Looking For:
·Strong knowledge of Electrical, Control, and Instrumentation (EC&I) engineering fundamentals, including safety systems and configuration management.
·Experience delivering detailed design packages within highly regulated industries.
·Proficiency in CAD/CAE tools used in EC&I design and in general computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project.
·Degree in a relevant engineering discipline or HNC/HND with substantial professional experience.
·Familiarity with BS7671 and low voltage directive standards.
Desirable Skills:
·Experience working within virtual teams and leading others through effective delegation and communication.
·Familiarity with AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks, or SEE Electrical design software.
·Basic understanding of Functional Safety standards (BS EN 61508, BS EN 61511) and experience in the nuclear industry (desirable but not essential).
