Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Drainage Project Manager to come and join a busy client in Liverpool to manage key projects funded by the Environment Agency.

The main duties of the experienced Drainage Project Manager are:

  • Manage and deliver FDGiA projects in collaboration with the Environment Agency.
  • Oversee specialist flood risk, drainage, and water quality projects.
  • Provide high-quality project and programme management across the entire project lifecycle.
  • Advise officers on project costs, schedules, risks, and issues.
  • Lead and manage multi-disciplinary professional teams.
  • Develop and implement delivery plans for projects, ensuring objectives are met.
  • Lead communications and relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Provide technical advice on drainage-related issues, ensuring compliance with design standards and procurement regulations.
  • Manage partnership contractual arrangements for drainage functions, working closely with the Environment Agency.
  • Significant experience and working knowledge of the NEC suite of contracts is required. NEC Accreditation is preferable.
  • Be fully accountable for the effective management and control of delegated capital and revenue budgets.


The Drainage Project Manager will have key skills and experience in:

  • Hold or be working towards a Project Management Qualification.
  • Experience in infrastructure projects and/or programme management across the project lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of pre and post contract Project Management responsibilities and ability to deliver this service effectively to clients.
  • Experience with NEC Administration tools such as Cemar, Fastdraft, etc.
