Job description

Purpose of the role:
 
Working under the direction of the Estimating Manager, the post holder will compile
competitive tender proposals and liaise with clients, with the aim of securing profitable work for the business.
 
Main Duties:
·Prepare competitive and accurate tender designs for sheet piled walls, king post walls and other ancillary disciplines.
·Identify the most suitable, safe and cost-effective operational solutions for tenders, taking into account any risks identified that are associated with any tender opportunity.
·Identify effective opportunities on projects where the company can offer multiple ground engineering solutions to clients.
·Prepare competitive and accurate tender proposals for solutions that are in line with company's Integrated Management System and departmental procedure.
·Communicate effectively with clients at all stages of the tender process to enhance the customer relations and assist them with their requirements and to maximise the success of securing profitable work. This is to include attending site visits, face-to-face meetings and online meetings as required.
·Follow up with customers after tenders are submitted to gain feedback on our price proposal and the anticipated commencement dates of projects.
·Provide regular updates to the Estimating Manager regarding good tender prospects and client feedback.
·Communicate effectively with other estimators within the company to ensure a "one-team" approach is adopted, particularly on multi-discipline opportunities.
·Communicate effectively with other team members to ensure that tender proposals are accurate, competitive and maximise the chance of winning profitable work from each opportunity.
·Carry out project handovers on secured to tenders to the wider team in line with departmental procedure and the Integrated Management System.
·Reporting directly to the Estimating Manager or his nominee, to set the highest possible professional standards at all times, specifically in regard to safety, quality and productivity.
·To work as part of a team.
·To represent the company professionally at all times.
·To be responsible for ensuring your own awareness of the company Integrated Management System, Environmental and Health & Safety polices and to carry out all duties responsibly in accordance with said polices.

Qualifications and Experience:
·Full UK clean driving license
·Minimum 2 years experience in ground investigation/ground engineering/geotechnical setting
