Salary Range: £90,000 - £130,000 per annum
Description: I am currently recruiting for a commercial director, overseeing a £50 million rail portfolio. The successful candidate will have a proven track record as a Commercial Manager within the rail sector, preferably on the client side or with Tier 1 contractors. This is a Head of Commercial role, requiring strong leadership and strategic skills reporting to the Rail and Director and managing a small team of Quantity Surveyors.
 
Key Responsibilities:
·Oversee a £50 million rail portfolio, managing up to 20 projects concurrently.
·Solid understanding of Work in Progress (WIP) and project financials.
·Experience with NEC3, NEC4, JCT, and Design and Build contracts.
·Handle contract disputes and resolutions effectively.
·Essential stakeholder engagement to ensure successful project delivery.
·Manage a team of Quantity Surveyors, providing leadership and support.
Requirements:
·Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior commercial role within the rail sector.
·Previous experience in a client-side or Tier 1 contractor role.
·Proven track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
·Strong understanding of NEC3, NEC4, JCT, and Design and Build contracts.
·Experience in resolving contract disputes.
·Excellent stakeholder engagement skills.
Working Arrangements:
·Hybrid working model based in Slough with regular client meetings and escalations across multiple offices
·1 day work from home on demand.
·The role is a blend of business and team interaction, with a preference for in-office presence 85/90% of the time to drive a culture of collaboration.
