Are you an experienced commercial manager with a proven track record in managing a team of quantity surveyors in the highways sector?
We are looking for an inspiring manager, team player and business astute Commercial Manager to join a growing organisation that has sustainability and innovation at its heart. The Commercial Manager supports the Commercial Director and is integral to the delivery of all commercial activity from the development to the delivery phase.
includes the following responsibilities;
·Effective delivery of works and projects including budget planning and management
·Identify profitable workstreams
·Provide comprehensive commercial forecasting, cost planning, CVR and change control as well as complete tenders and supply quotations
·Manage, motivate and inspire a team to empower them to deliver against their commercial goals
·Have a deep understanding of contract clauses, negotiating points or offering practical solutions to mitigate risk or dispute and optimise business outcomes
·Lead on departmental, governance and CVR reporting, working closely with internal stakeholders as required
To succeed in this Commercial Manager role, you will need to have strong influencing and communication skills to work with stakeholders internally and externally. You will also have;
·A degree in commercial management, quantity surveying or similar, and relevant experience in highways or civil engineering
·Experience in managing a commercial team including guiding reportees through quantity surveyors CPD
·The ability to demonstrate your knowledge and experience of developing opportunity/risk plans, working with NEC and framework contracts and understanding the relevant regulatory and governance responsibilities
·You will have the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and subcontractors.
·Experience avoiding and resolving commercial disputes/disagreements.
