Supervisor - Highways - Aylesbury
 
Overall Purpose of The Role:
 
We are seeking a dedicated Earthworks Supervisor to join our dynamic team in Aylesbury. This role is pivotal in overseeing the delivery of earthworks and associated activities as part of a significant highways project. The successful candidate will support the management team, ensuring efficient project execution through subcontract management and direct works.
 
Key Tasks and Accountabilities:
 
·Supervise and mentor assigned staff, conducting toolbox talks and ensuring adherence to health and safety protocols under the guidance of the manager.
·Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with the Client and Stakeholders, providing regular project updates.
·Manage and coordinate earthworks activities in accordance with project schedules and budget constraints.
·Interpret and apply drawings, models, and specifications to on-site activities, ensuring accurate implementation.
·Perform material take-offs for designated work areas, optimizing resource utilization.
·Collaborate effectively with clients, suppliers, and partners, fostering a positive working environment.
·Conduct regular site inspections, documenting findings and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
·Responsible for setting out all aspects of the earthworks on site, ensuring precision and compliance.
·Maintain comprehensive records for as-built information and manage QA records to ensure quality standards.
·Raise Technical Queries and manage inspection requests promptly and efficiently.
·Enforce strict adherence to site safety protocols, promptly reporting accidents to Health & Safety and Environmental Managers.
·Commit to achieving project targets and maintaining high-quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
 
Essential Requirements:
 
·SSSTS or SMSTS certification.
·Valid CSCS card.
·Full clean driving licence.
·Proven experience in Earthworks, Drainage, or Highways Operations.
 
Desirable:
 
·Plant tickets (e.g., CPCS) would be advantageous.
