Looking for a Senior Quantity Surveying role within the Water and Utilities sectors?
 
Our client a leading contractor who are working on a water and wastewater infrastructure contract have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Commercial team working out of the Leeds area.
 
As the Senior Quantity Surveyor you will be part of our Commercial Team who are responsible for the commercial management of the AMP7 frameworks.

Let under NEC4 ,  the role will cover three Yorkshire Water AMP7/AMP8 frameworks including Infrastructure, Customer Focused and Minor Civils clean and waste water capital works.

Duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Manage, assist and advise the on commercial influences around Cost and Value reporting and changes required to ensure profit targets are met
  • Ensure cash is received on time and aligned to forecast targets
  • WIP management, ensuring kept at optimum level for the contract
  • To be an effective negotiator at both internal and client levels
  • The production and presentation of Monthly CVR's/Profit and loss accounts
  • To ensure all work completed is accurately valued and followed through to cash collection
  • To oversee the procurement and management of sub-contractor applications and payments and other suppliers
  • Cash flow and aged debt reporting
  • To develop and implement changes to process following understanding of a need to make changes to improve performance
  • Management of the Early Warning and Compensation Event process
  • Managing and supporting other commercial team members


Skills and Knowledge:

  • A degree/HND or equivalent in Commercial Management/Quantity Surveying or other construction related subject or substantial previous experience in a similar position
  • A commercially and contractually astute individual that takes ownership of performance
  • A proactive person with a disposition to take action pre-emptively to manage risk and opportunity
  • Detailed understanding and previous experience of NEC contracts
  • Ability to deal with large amounts of data accurately and efficiently.
