Job description
Immediate need for a skilled and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a dynamic team based in Woking, Surrey.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing the financial aspects of a transformative urban development project, focusing on creating an enhanced public space in the town centre. This role offers an exciting opportunity for professional growth and development in a fast-paced and challenging environment
You will be an experienced Quantity Surveying professional with a background in highways engineering, projects and contracts. You will also be experienced on NEC projects.
This assignment is paying Outside IR35
Key Responsibilities:
As the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial aspects of the project, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficiency in the following areas:
1.Extended Pavement Space: Manage costs related to the expansion of pavement space to create a welcoming environment that encourages people to linger longer near cafes and restaurants.
2.Greenery and Seating: Oversee budgeting for the incorporation of more greenery and seating within the town centre, enhancing the aesthetic appeal and public amenities.
3.Safety Enhancements: Monitor costs associated with safety improvements for pedestrians and cyclists, including the widening of parking bays and the use of contrasting materials to clearly separate road and parking areas.
4.Landscaping Features: Manage financial aspects related to planting trees, rain gardens, and pocket parks. Rain gardens will be strategically placed to absorb water runoff, addressing flooding concerns in specific areas.
5.Active Travel Initiatives: Allocate resources to initiatives aimed at promoting more active travel options such as walking and cycling. This includes redressing the current imbalance that favors car users.
Requirements:
·Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in construction or infrastructure projects.
·Strong financial management skills, with a focus on cost control and budget adherence.
·Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse project stakeholders.
·Familiarity with construction industry regulations and standards.
·Ability to analyze and interpret project specifications and drawings.
·You will need to have your own laptop.
