Senior Project Planner

Our client are a leading engineering company supporting the nuclear industry, they seek a Senior Project Planner to oversee a small team of planners from their site in Wolverhampton.
 
The Role
 
·Coordinate and oversee the Project Planners team.
·Establish and uphold planning standards across all projects within the company portfolio.
·Review and update company procedures as necessary.
·Collaborate with the Projects Delivery Director, Commercial Director, Business Winning Director, Engineering Director, and Head of Functions on high-level planning tasks, integrating individual project schedules.
·Provide close support to Project Planners, Project Managers, and Cost Engineers on planning-related tasks, including the creation of standardized rules of credit.
·Ensure alignment of the EPS structure with company expectations and oversee the maintenance of P6 EPS, including housekeeping of baseline and live schedule copies.
·Establish project schedules, resources, and budgets in accordance with agreed estimates and timescales.
·Conduct monthly schedule updates, analyze project resource demands, and assess associated costs.
·Produce timely and accurate internal and client reports/schedules, including Earned Value Analysis, Critical Path Analysis, and Resource Analysis.
·Develop and maintain reporting systems to meet project demands, ensure accuracy of all data and reports, assess project KPIs, and participate in the risk management process, including mitigating actions.
 
Crucial Skills and Experience
 
·Demonstrate excellent knowledge of project scheduling, resourcing, and costing, with extensive experience in Primavera P6, ideally as a "superuser."
·Fully conversant in Earned Value Analysis, project cost controls, and project management principles and processes.
·Comfortable leading and contributing within a team, with strong understanding of project controls (cost engineering, change control, risk management).
·Proficient in data manipulation and IT skills, particularly MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Access, with good spoken and written English.
·HNC/HND in engineering or similar, with additional qualifications or experience in the Nuclear Industry, risk analysis software, and Visual Basic for Applications being desirable
