Job Advertisement: Highways Quantity Surveyor
Location: Brixworth, Northamptonshire  ( 5 days office based)
Contract: Permanent, Full-time  
Salary: £50,000 + car + benefits + 7.5% pension
 
 About the Role:
 
Our client is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their Transportation team in Brixworth. This role aims to strengthen the current commercial team, working across two term service contracts for West & North Northamptonshire, delivering highways maintenance and capital schemes valued at approximately £60m per annum.

 Responsibilities:
 
As a Quantity Surveyor, the successful candidate will manage all financial aspects of provider and managed works contracts. Responsibilities include:
 
- Value engineering and estimating target prices
- Negotiating prices with subcontractors and clients
- Identifying and agreeing on the value of additional works
- Managing interim valuations and final accounts
- Producing and managing contractual documentation
 
Day-to-day activities:
 
- Supporting and leading the ongoing management of subcontractor accounts in partnership with the client
- Working closely with operational teams to ensure accurate and sufficient detail in all task orders to subcontractors
- Aiding in the commercial management of additional scheme works from the construction phase through to application, invoice, and payment
- Reconciling subcontractor accounts
 
 Requirements:
 
This role is ideal for candidates who:
 
- Have relevant qualifications and/or experience in a similar role in highways
- Can manage multiple fast-paced workflows concurrently, with experience in the NEC suite of contracts, especially Option C
- Are familiar with subcontractor account management
