Highways Engineer
 
Our client is looking for a skilled and motivated Highways Engineer to join their team in Newark. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing and delivering highway and access road solutions while collaborating with the wider civil and structural engineering team. Reporting to an Associate, you will be responsible for ensuring technical excellence and compliance with industry standards across various projects.
 
The company is an innovative and forward-thinking multi-disciplinary consultancy specialising in civil, structural, and highway engineering. Our team is dedicated to delivering high-quality engineering solutions for industrial, manufacturing, commercial, and bespoke projects.
 
Key Responsibilities
·Design and develop highways, access roads, and Public Rights of Way (PROW) schemes.
·Ensure compliance with technical design requirements, including highways drainage, alignments, and key sectional agreements such as S278 and S38.
·Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
·Support the delivery of industrial, manufacturing, commercial, and bespoke development projects.
·Provide technical guidance and input throughout the project lifecycle.
·Work both independently and as part of a wider civil/structural engineering team.
·Ensure project deadlines and client requirements are met effectively.
Requirements
·Chartered or Incorporated status with a relevant professional body (or working towards this).
·Proven experience in highways engineering, particularly with highways, access roads, and PROW schemes.
·Strong knowledge of technical design principles related to highways drainage, alignments, and key agreements (S278 & S38).
·Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
·Experience working with industrial and manufacturing developments is advantageous.
·Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
·Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
